The fact that it gets dark at 5pm now is stiflingly confusing to the brain. The first positive I've found is that getting up to start the day at 5/6am is way easier than before. And second, is (seemingly) more time to painting at night. Absorbing inspiration throughout the early day and unwinding with visuals at the eve. Seems to be jelling well -- clothes and business duties at day, canvas at night. You know you're in a jive when your passion becomes an even bigger obsession.
This being said, my two recent piece, After Hours and Night Shift are a prime example of the madness that hits at night. The chaos of cool people spiraling around in my head translate their actions through the paint brush. The paintings are cathartic and organic, growing a story with every added element.
